Friendly one-to-one online English lessons for children aged 5 to 12

Class Type: One-to-One
The purpose of this document is to ensure that the English lessons are run in a structured and transparent manner and are based on mutual respect between teacher and student.
If students are late for a class, the class will still finish at the scheduled time. Lost teaching time will not be made up.
Invoices are issued prior to the start of each new calendar month assuming full attendance for each month. If a student cancels a class once the monthly invoice has been issued, no refund will be given. If the teacher is unable to deliver the class at the scheduled time, every effort will be made to reschedule for a mutually convenient day and time within the given calendar month. However, if rescheduling is not possible, a refund for the lost class will be given. Any planned holidays or other reasonable absences will be taken into account and therefore not charged if students give as much advance notice as possible and, at the latest, before the monthly invoice is issued.
If the teacher is unable to attend a scheduled class, the teacher agrees to tell the student at least 24 hours before the class unless it is a true emergency. If the student is unable to attend, the student agrees to give at least 24 hours’ notice. In an emergency, the student will try to give as much notice as possible. The teacher will not charge the student for emergency cancellations.
If the student experiences internet problems, the teacher and student will try for up to ten minutes to connect. After ten minutes, if there is not a stable connection, the class will be cancelled. The student will not be charged for classes in which the internet or video platform does not permit the class to start. If a class is already in progress but is cut short by internet problems that cannot be resolved promptly, the class will end and the fee will be calculated according to the time taught. Both parties will make their best attempts to resolve connectivity issues during the allotted class time. Temporary disconnections of up to three minutes that are resolved promptly will count towards class time.
One-to-one private lessons cost £20 for 30 minutes, £25 for 45 minutes and £30 for 60 minutes. Students will be notified of any change in cost at least one month in advance.
Payment shall be made in full within one week of receiving each monthly invoice. The due date is shown on the invoice. Payment should be made through the Foster English Fluency website using Stripe. Stripe accepts credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and recurring subscriptions. When you pay in a foreign currency, your bank or card issuer automatically converts the amount to pounds sterling.
Individual requests for refunds may be considered where there are unique circumstances such as long-term illness.
If the student or teacher wishes to discontinue classes, one month’s notice is requested. This allows time for planning and for the timetable slot to be offered to another student.
Foster English Fluency is dedicated to creating a positive and secure learning environment. All lessons are conducted in an appropriate, supportive and respectful manner.
