English practice at home does not need worksheets or long study sessions. A few minutes of relaxed speaking can make a useful difference.
1. Describe and guess
Choose an object without naming it. Describe its colour, size, shape and use while the other person guesses.
2. Tell the story of a picture
Use a family photo, book illustration or magazine image. Ask who is there, what is happening and what might happen next.
3. Give simple instructions
Take turns giving directions for a small task, such as making a snack, drawing a picture or finding an item in the room.
4. Share one highlight
At the end of the day, each person describes one good moment and one surprising moment.
5. Change the ending
After reading a short story, invent a different ending together. Encourage full sentences, but keep the activity playful.
The goal is regular communication. Stop while the activity still feels enjoyable, and praise the effort to express an idea.
