Friendly one-to-one online English lessons for children aged 5 to 12

Foster English Fluency - Terms & Conditions
Class Type: One-to-One
Aim: The purpose of this document is to ensure that the English lessons are run in a structured and transparent manner and are based on mutual respect between teacher and student.
Attendance: If students are late for a class, the class will still finish at the scheduled time - in other words, lost teaching time will not be made up.
Cancellations: Invoices are issued prior to the start of each new calendar month assuming full attendance for each month. If a student cancels a class once the monthly invoice has been issued, no refund will be given. If the teacher is unable to deliver the class at the scheduled time, every effort will be made to reschedule for a mutually convenient day and time within the given calendar month. However, if rescheduling is not possible, a refund for the lost class will be given. Any planned holidays (or other reasonable absences) will be taken into account and therefore not charged if students give as much advance notice as possible and, at the very latest, prior to the monthly invoice being issued.
If the teacher is unable to attend a scheduled class, the teacher agrees to tell the student of the absence at least 24 hours prior to the start of the class unless it is a true emergency. If the student is unable to attend a scheduled class, the student agrees to tell the teacher of the absence at least 24 hours prior to the start of the class. For emergency situations, the student will try to give as much advance notice to the teacher if he or she needs to cancel a class. The teacher will not charge the student for emergency cancellations.
Regarding Internet: If the student is experiencing problems with his or her internet, the teacher and the student will try for up to ten minutes to connect for class. After ten minutes, if there is not a solid connection, the class will be cancelled. The student will not be charged for classes in which the internet or video platform does not permit the class to start. If a class is already in progress but cut short due to internet problems that cannot be resolved in a timely manner, the class will end and will be pro-rated, meaning the student will be charged for the time taught. The teacher and the student will make their best attempts to resolve internet connectivity issues during the allotted class time. Any temporary disconnections (up to three minutes) resolved in a timely manner will count toward the class time.
Charges: Cost for a one-to-one private class is set at: £15.00 per 30 min./ £20.00 per 45 min. / £25.00 per hour. Students will be notified of any change in cost at least one month in advance.
Payment: Payment shall be made in full within one week of receiving each monthly invoice. This due date is shown on the invoice. Payment should be made over the ‘Foster English Fluency’ website which provides a secure method of payment using ‘Stripe’. Stripe is a secure online payment system that businesses use to accept card payments. It handles credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and recurring subscriptions. It is used by many online education platforms, including some ESL schools. When you pay in a foreign currency, your bank or card issuer automatically converts the amount to pounds (£).
Refunds: Individual requests for refunds might be considered where there are unique circumstances such as long-term illness.
Discontinuing classes: If the student (or teacher) wishes to discontinue classes, the student (or teacher) is asked to give notice of one month. This gives the teacher time to plan and to give this timetable slot to another student.
Child Protection: Foster English Fluency is dedicated to creating a positive and secure learning environment. All lessons are conducted in an appropriate, supportive, and respectful manner.
